My first full day of the I Quit Sugar 8 week program (which I wrote about before I started here) was on the 19th of June so I’ve been on the program for 2.5 weeks now and it’s been incredibly surprising to say the least.
I had expectations of hardcore sugar cravings and just not feeling my best while I was detoxing from sugar. I also kind of expected to not enjoy the food or not find it as flavourful as my usual meals (not entirely sure why I thought that) and to be hungry a lot more than usual.
But meals in the plan are delicious (the miso steak with winter slaw and the one pan lasagna are my favourites so far) and have left me feeling surprisingly satisfied and full for much longer than expected (I think because of the generous serving of vegetables). The portion sizes are a lot bigger than I thought they would be (and in some cases are bigger than what I would usually eat) but they are made up of mostly vegetables so I’m quite happy about not feeling like I’m missing out due to small portion sizes….
