Another mini gift guide for the Friday Five today, this time focusing on DIY Christmas gifts! Handmade gifts are so heartfelt and a lovely gesture that they are often worth 10 times a store bought gift. It’s always nice to share any special talents you may have through your gifts. It’s also a more cost-effective gift giving solution if you’re on a tight budget this year!…
I love looking at all the beautiful gift wrapping ideas on Pinterest so to save you having to trawl through Pinterest yourself to find some gift wrapping ideas I have done the hard work for you and pulled together 25 of my favourites in the one place to inspire you to beautify your Christmas presents this year.
My husband loves them and they tend not to last too long in our house so I inevitably end up making a few batches over the Christmas season (yep, I’m calling it, we are officially into the Christmas season!)
I can’t remember where I got this recipe from, but I’ve been using it for a couple of years and it is super easy and guaranteed to be delicious! …
Yesterday I shared that watching the Star Wars trilogies (both of them!) is a bit of a Christmas tradition in our house. We do actually watch Christmas movies at Christmas time as well so I thought for my Friday Five today I would give you a list of five of the best Christmas movies (well, best to me anyway).
1. Love Actually
My husband literally won’t let me watch this at any other time of the year because ‘it’s a Christmas movie’ so I relish watching this awesome movie when I can. I love the multiple story lines and the way they interrelate, the awesome cast (Colin Firth, Emma Thompson, Alan Rickman, Bill Nighy, Liam Neeson… as if that isn’t a British actor jackpot!), and of course, the Christmassy nature of it all. Definitely a must-watch in my book.
2. Home Alone
I loved this movie growing up and I still love it. I can’t see Macauley Culkin as anything other than Kevin, I just can’t. I love the elaborate protection of the house that Kevin does. It may have had me a bit obsessed with setting booby traps growing up….
We have a few Christmas traditions in our house, and most of them are fairly normal. We decorate our house for Christmas on the last weekend in November (I ignore anyone who says it’s bad luck to put them up before December. I’m an impatient and Christmas loving person!), drink champagne and listen to Michael Buble.
I bake gingerbread cookies (my favourite Christmas baked good!).
We buy a ham in early December and basically eat ham for all of December (it’s delicious! Especially cooked a little in a frypan served with fried eggs. Yum!)
I think our weirdest Christmas tradition is …
Two weeks ago I gave you 5 reasons to get organised for Christmas so I thought today I would share with you 7 ways you can get organised for Christmas. It’s only 7 weeks til Christmas and it will absolutely fly by!
1. Make a list (and check it twice)
That song it going to be stuck in your head all day now. You’re welcome.
But seriously, making a list is the easiest way to get your thoughts in order for anything, but especially for Christmas when you can sometimes forget or overlook some really important things….
Today is exactly two months til Christmas Eve!! I’m so excited. I love Christmas time, putting up the tree, spending time with friends and family, making gingerbread cookies!! It’s just a lovely time of year.
When I mention Christmas around now I’m greeted with a very loud ‘shhh!’ or told that it’s ages away. Two months is not that long at all, so I thought today for my Friday Five I would give you five compelling reasons (okay, they may not be compelling, but they’re five reasons!) to get organised for Christmas now!
