As much as I love the fashion (after all, it is fashion week), I absolutely adore seeing what the beauty trends are for the shows. There are always some really beautiful and really interesting hair and makeup looks for the shows….
I missed posting about my November favourites at the start of this month and seeing as though it’s almost the end of the year I thought I would combine my November and December favourites. I’m planning on doing a ‘2016 Favourites’ early next year, so this is a good opportunity to consolidate all my very recent faves before casting my mind back over 2016 as a whole.
In this favourites post I’ve got a little bit of everything! I’ve got some beauty bits, the two dresses that have totally stolen my heart, the books I was obsessed with and the show I binged on (more than once!).…
I thought today I would show you the products I use for my ‘everyday makeup’, because I do my makeup most days especially now that I’m back at work. I definitely do have many makeup free days (especially on weekends) but I actually really love doing my makeup. It’s fun and I just love how ‘done’ it makes me look.
As much as I love experimenting with my makeup and trying new products, I often come back to this tried and true makeup routine which is quick and easy. It’s perfect for most situations because it’s quite neutral, super quick to apply, requires basically no thought and still looks professional and polished enough for me to wear to work. …
It’s time to check in for my monthly favourites! If you haven’t seen my other favourites posts, this is a monthly post series where I share my ‘favourites’ for the month – products, food, clothes, books and anything else I’m loving and couldn’t get enough of in the last month.
September just flew by with things ramping up at work, Grace turning 1 (I promise a post is coming soon!) and heading to Problogger. This year is just going by so fast, it’s hard to believe it will be Christmas in less than 3 months! (I can hear all the whispers to shhh about Christmas from here!!)
This month I’ve got some beauty products I’ve been using constantly, the striped top of my dreams, the book I’m fascinated with and the show we’re absolutely obsessed with right now.
It’s monthly favourites time! It’s so hard to believe it is basically halfway through the year, I feel like January wasn’t that long ago and here we are basically in July!! This months favourites has a good mix of beauty, clothes, some iPhone accessories, some things I’m absolutely loving to make my life with Grace that little bit easier, and my favourite candle.
If you haven’t seen my other favourites posts, this is a monthly post series where I’ll be sharing my ‘favourites’ for the month – products, food, clothes, books and anything else I’m loving and couldn’t get enough of in the last month.
As a side note: I thought it was worth mentioning that if you follow me on Instagram, I post lots of things I’m loving throughout the month, including some real-time reviews of new products. So if you’re interested in my thoughts on lots of products I’m using, head on over there and check it out….
I’m a sucker for a bargain, a collaboration and a bit of a novelty item. The Anna and Lily Cult Beauty Box falls into all three categories for me! Anna (Vivianna Does Makeup) and Lily (Lily Pebbles) are my two favourite beauty bloggers so I was always going to buy anything they were involved in.
I also really love Cult Beauty (it’s where I get my stash of my beloved Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel) and although the Aussie dollar is a bit rubbish at the moment, the deduction of VAT on checkout means the prices aren’t unreasonable at all.
If you follow me on Snapchat (@lifeatnumber5) you would have seen the unboxing when it was delivered but I thought today I would show you what was in the beauty box and what my thoughts are on the lovely products it included….
It’s a surprise to no one that I love routines, so I am especially fond of my skincare routine. I love the ritual nature of skincare, I find it very soothing and relaxing.
I have a tendency to change up my skincare lineup often because I like trying new things and experimenting with different products and routines. While I often love the products I use, I’m not necessarily wedded to them so it’s nice to change things up to see if I can find my ‘holy grail’ products. …
I am constantly coming across products that I love or make my life easier – whether they be beauty products, stuff for the home, or products for making life with a baby just that little bit more manageable – so I thought I would start a ‘products I love’ series of posts, where I share a product that I am absolutely loving with you.
I love reading other people’s recommendations and reviews of products and I’m often more inclined to buy something based off a recommendation someone has made rather than advertising alone, so I would love to share some of my favourite things with you and I’ll link up to where you can purchase it for yourself in case you think you might love it too!
First up is a product I mentioned in my November Favourites: Bumble and Bumble Don’t Blow It [H]air styler. …
I’ve been meaning to have a dedicated travel toiletry bag for so long, and I’ve finally managed to put one together! I go on a lot of quick weekend trips (mostly to visit my parents in Sydney) and I always feel like packing my toiletries is something I do at the last minute and is always such a pain to worry about, so having a dedicated travel toiletry bag stocked and ready to go will save me precious time and make sure I never forget anything.
Putting this bag together has been motivated by two things. The first is that we are going on a trip this weekend (our ‘babymoon’) and the second is that I want to have a toiletry bag ready to go in my hospital bag and not have to worry about packing anything while I’m in labour (because I will no doubt forget something important if I try to pack my toiletries during labour!)…
It’s really different doing it this time because I’m pregnant and only have a limited wardrobe to work with due to not fitting into pretty much any of my old clothes, so I’ve had to be even more creative than usual to make it work!!
It’s been a great way to avoid falling into a fashion rut while I’m pregnant when it would be so easy to wear the same thing every day, and I’m loving seeing what everyone else is wearing.
If you’re not familiar with it, the Style Dare was created by Andrea at Fox in Flats as a way to bust out of a fashion rut and it’s so much fun!!
This is what I’ve been wearing so far in May:…
