I still cannot believe that it’s December! This year has gone so incredibly quickly. My favourites this month are very hair and beauty heavy! A couple of new products and some that I’ve been using for a while now, plus the things I’ve been loving to watch this month and the beautiful plants that are brightening up my home.
Hair and Beauty
I’ve been using the Rahua Voluminous Spray and Hair Refresher over the past few months almost every day and it’s become one of my must-have beauty products. It’s a volumising mist and I find it just gives a little more texture to my hair without making it too product-heavy (and therefore dirty sooner!). It can be used on wet or dry hair which is great as I find a lot of styling products can only be used on one or the other. It’s just a lovely general use styling product!
My hair has a tendency to get rather dry at the ends (a horrible irony given that my roots tends towards oily) but I’m really terrible at doing hair masks due to the time and fuss it takes to do them. I’ve been using Flora Remedia Lavender Hair Treatment Oil lately which is so great because I put it on my hair before I go to bed the night before I’m going to wash my hair (I wash my hair in the mornings and let it air dry #lazy). It requires basically no effort, it smells incredible (its lavender which is great for while I’m going to sleep) and it leaves my hair really soft and lovely after I’ve washed it the next morning. Plus I love that it’s a beautiful natural product.
Much like I’m terribly slack at using hair masks, I’m terrible at moisturising. I hate having lotion on my hands (possibly a bit weird), I’m terrible at remembering to put it on and I hate waiting for it to dry. I’ve rekindled my love of body oils with this Weleda Sea Buckthorn Body Oil and it totally solves all my problems with moisturising. I have this bottle in my shower and I apply it straight after I turn the water off and before I dry myself (which locks in all the moisture) and I have remembered to use it every day which is almost unheard of for me! It leaves my legs super moisturised and is really easy to use.
I’m always trying out new concealers trying to experiment with different formulas to see what works best and I’ve been using the Ere Perez Arnica Concealer lately and really liking it. It’s not quite as full coverage as my rms beauty concealer but it still covers really nicely. It’s a cream concealer (which I find to work best on my skin) and it has arnica as an ingredient which actively helps reduce inflammation – great for red spots or the under eye area.
I love a good highlighter, it is one of my everyday makeup products, and lately I’ve been using the Frank Body Illuminator from their new (and limited edition) shimmer collection. It’s another natural product and is a really natural looking highlighter with some great ingredients. It’s very creamy and is super easy to dot on your cheekbones and blend in. It’s become my cream highlighter of choice!
While I wait for the new season of The Crown to come out on Netflix (this weekend if you’re interested!), I’ve been watching Victoria. Yes, I’m a sucker for the royals. Victoria stars Jenna Coleman (who played Clara on Doctor Who) and follows the early reign of Queen Victoria. While it’s no The Crown it’s still quite good and an enjoyable watch!
If you haven’t watched OK Go!’s music videos before, you need to! They are some of my favourite music videos ever. Their newest one, for their song Obsession, came out a week or so ago and is great. The amount of choreography and work that goes into their videos is insane and makes for some really cool videos! (Upside Down and Inside Out is another favourite of mine!)
I went to a local market last month and picked up two new indoor plants (yep, I’m obsessed!) and these ones are super adorable. They’re called a kokedama (which means ‘moss ball’) which is essentially an ornamental plant in a ball of soil and moss. It’s a Japanese form of garden art and it looks so different, I just love it.
Those are my favourites for November! What have you been loving in the last month?
