As much as I love the fashion (after all, it is fashion week), I absolutely adore seeing what the beauty trends are for the shows. There are always some really beautiful and really interesting hair and makeup looks for the shows….

My winter wardrobe was definitely in need of some additional items this year. This time last year I was on maternity leave and was around 10kg heavier than I am now so a lot of my winter clothes from last year just weren’t going to cut it for this year.
I’ve been fairly discerning about any additions to my wardrobe lately. It’s partly that I’m embracing more minimalism in my life and partly that I don’t want to spend unnecessary money on clothes that I’m not going to get the best use out of.
With that in mind, I’ve added a few items to my wardrobe over the past month or so (the cold snap came on fast this year!) to round out my winter wardrobe. …
It’s been a while since I’ve done a favourites post and now that I’m back to blogging I thought I should do an April Favourites post to catch you up on the things I’ve been loving lately.
If you haven’t seen my other favourites posts, this is a monthly post series where I share my ‘favourites’ for the month – products, food, clothes, books and anything else I’m loving and couldn’t get enough of in the last month.
I missed posting about my November favourites at the start of this month and seeing as though it’s almost the end of the year I thought I would combine my November and December favourites. I’m planning on doing a ‘2016 Favourites’ early next year, so this is a good opportunity to consolidate all my very recent faves before casting my mind back over 2016 as a whole.
In this favourites post I’ve got a little bit of everything! I’ve got some beauty bits, the two dresses that have totally stolen my heart, the books I was obsessed with and the show I binged on (more than once!).…
It’s November (hard to believe!) which means it’s time to have a look at my favourites for October. This post is slightly later than I intended to be honest. My start to November was intense (check out this post on Instagram to see why!) and I needed a little down time before I sat down to the computer again. But here we are!
I’ve got some new (and new-to-me) beauty bits, the podcast I’m absolutely loving, my new favourite tech item and a meeting with two of my favourite fellow Canberra based bloggers!
I thought today I would show you the products I use for my ‘everyday makeup’, because I do my makeup most days especially now that I’m back at work. I definitely do have many makeup free days (especially on weekends) but I actually really love doing my makeup. It’s fun and I just love how ‘done’ it makes me look.
As much as I love experimenting with my makeup and trying new products, I often come back to this tried and true makeup routine which is quick and easy. It’s perfect for most situations because it’s quite neutral, super quick to apply, requires basically no thought and still looks professional and polished enough for me to wear to work. …
It’s (a little late) monthly favourites time for July (how is it already August?!). I found July a hard month to pick favourites for in some categories, because I was either dealing with a sick baby or was sick myself for most of the month. But it made other categories (like what I’ve been watching and reading) much easier than usual!
If you haven’t seen my other favourites posts, this is a monthly post series where I’ll be sharing my ‘favourites’ for the month – products, food, clothes, books and anything else I’m loving and couldn’t get enough of in the last month.…
It’s monthly favourites time! It’s so hard to believe it is basically halfway through the year, I feel like January wasn’t that long ago and here we are basically in July!! This months favourites has a good mix of beauty, clothes, some iPhone accessories, some things I’m absolutely loving to make my life with Grace that little bit easier, and my favourite candle.
If you haven’t seen my other favourites posts, this is a monthly post series where I’ll be sharing my ‘favourites’ for the month – products, food, clothes, books and anything else I’m loving and couldn’t get enough of in the last month.
As a side note: I thought it was worth mentioning that if you follow me on Instagram, I post lots of things I’m loving throughout the month, including some real-time reviews of new products. So if you’re interested in my thoughts on lots of products I’m using, head on over there and check it out….
I can’t believe it’s the end of May already! Where is this year going?! Anyway, unbelievably it is time for my May Favourites!
If you haven’t seen my other favourites posts, this is a monthly post series where I’ll be sharing my ‘favourites’ for the month – products, food, clothes, books and anything else I’m loving and couldn’t get enough of in the last month….
I’m a sucker for a bargain, a collaboration and a bit of a novelty item. The Anna and Lily Cult Beauty Box falls into all three categories for me! Anna (Vivianna Does Makeup) and Lily (Lily Pebbles) are my two favourite beauty bloggers so I was always going to buy anything they were involved in.
I also really love Cult Beauty (it’s where I get my stash of my beloved Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel) and although the Aussie dollar is a bit rubbish at the moment, the deduction of VAT on checkout means the prices aren’t unreasonable at all.
If you follow me on Snapchat (@lifeatnumber5) you would have seen the unboxing when it was delivered but I thought today I would show you what was in the beauty box and what my thoughts are on the lovely products it included….
